Capital FM Arena, Nottingham - 17th November 2012

Tony 'The Bomber' Bellew (19-1 [12ko]) emphasized himself even more to myself, Championship material with a brave display against the Argentine Roberto Bolonti on the undercard of the Froch v Mack fight last night. The Bomber whom many criticised after his last fight with the dangerous but aged Edison Miranda came into the fight and put the Argentine on the back foot from the first round. Many of Bellew's shots were wild but he clearly had dominance and looked like he could take the best the Argentine could muster when he was caught with a wild but clean left hand.

Bellew then was caught by a left hand which caused a terrible cut which may have seen the Scousers dreams lay in tatters if the fight was stopped. The Bomber though had the best cutman in the business in his corner in Mick Williamson who managed to patch the wide gash up as best as possible. Bellew showed the class of Champion in the waiting by total changing the game plan. He picked his shots and protected the eye while also keeping Bolonti on the back foot from start to finish. Bellew won the fight by unanimous decision thus been crowned the WBC Silver Light-Heavyweight Champion gaining himself a guranteed top 10 place throughout all the governing bodies.

The sad thing is we will not be able to see Bellew now till Spring due to the large gash along the right eyebrow. Many people have asked myself about if Bellew is capable of being a World Champion and my mind and heart defiantly believe one day he will be a world champion.

==================

Kal Yafai (5-0 [4ko] made short work of his Italian counterpart with another powerful bodyshot which left the Italian in quite a deal of distress. Yafai, is defiantly my pick as one of the most exciting prospects in the game. My view is getting the Birmingham man in with Jason Booth as he would learn so much in that fight with him.

Scott Cardle (8-0 [2ko]) overcome the fustration against Miguel Aguillar who certainly did not come to fight. He came to upset the prospect and at times managed to succeed. Cardle at times didn't look comfortable and was very fustrated he needs to overcome these obstacles if he is to progress in boxing. We will see Cardle on the 1st December 2012 and will hope to see the Blackpool man perform better in his next bout.

Callum Smith (1-0), another Smith addition to boxing looked very sharp in his debut bout and looks like he could be a good boxer. I belive it is tough to show how a fighter does but many rave about the young scouser including Carl Froch after some great sparring. He needs to be active but Hearn likes to keep his fighters active.
